A native of Valparaiso, Chile, Rene studied music at Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso where he started writing music, playing in rock bands and working on other music projects. He finished his bachelors degree in music in 2001. Upon graduation, he worked as a full-time music teacher and a part-time director of an acclaimed non-profit, Casa Cultural de Valparaiso. Late in 2003, Rene came to the United States to continue his studies at Duquesne University where he obtained a master's in music in 2006. From there he moved to New York City to work at JSM, a renowned music house. He entered the audio book industry in 2007 when he started working in Talking Books Production. Since then, he has also worked on several projects composing and producing music for advertising, commercials, films, and animation. He also plays bass and guitar in different bands, collaborating with local and international artists. He lives in Manhattan with his wife Shannon and continues working as a freelance composer, producer, and engineer for multiple projects developed for the Latin and general markets.
